New Tutors

To meet growing demand we are always looking to increase our database of tutors. Every family that makes an enquiry with us has their own particular requirements with regard to tuition - for example: location, timing as well as specific tuition needs. Equally our tutors have their own requirement and preferences.

Some of our tutors are full time teachers who only want the odd hour of tuition a week, others tutor full time and we are able to keep them busy.  Some tutors will only tutor from their own home whilst others prefer to travel to the tutee’s home. In order to match, as closely as possible, the needs of the family to the right tutor we need a large base of tutors to be able to draw from.

What qualifications do I need?

There are no legal minimum requirements to tutor but we specify that you must at least have a degree in the subject that you are tutoring.  Whilst most of our tutors do hold a PGCE we don’t feel that this is vital. It is important that you know your subject inside out, but it is just as important to be able to relate well to the tutee.  We expect a high standard of conduct from our tutors.  We are professional and we expect our tutors to behave professionally also.

How do I apply to become a tutor with Chatterton Tuition Ltd?

Simply phone, email or text us and we will send you a New Tutor Pack.  This details how we operate and what information we need from you.  We would want to meet you to verify all your qualifications and to learn a little about your personality, your individual skills and your experience.  You will need an up to date fully enhanced DBS (CRB) certificate.  If you don’t have one then we can apply for one on your behalf.

If you are interested in finding out more then call us on 01423 340076. We look forward to hearing from you.
